The US CHIPS and Science Act promises investment, bolstering Vietnam’s appeal. However, US Undersecretary Jose Fernandez noted that renewable energy availability is key for attracting more US companies with green objectives. Vietnam is addressing its skilled labor gap by planning to train 50,000 engineers by 2030 and facilitating technology transfers. The US CHIPS Act subsidies, yet to be determined, signal strong confidence in Vietnam’s potential as a semiconductor hub.
