Despite an initial breakthrough, interest waned after a subsequent release six years later, leading to a near-decade lull in the domestic chip industry.
Recently, Vietnam has revived its semiconductor ambitions with the “Make in Vietnam” campaign, focusing on entirely homegrown chip design and production. The country is striving to secure a place in the global semiconductor supply chain, a field usually dominated by nations with significantly higher per capita incomes than Vietnam’s.
