Party Central Committee agrees to let Vo Van Thuong cease holding positions

The 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam has agreed to let Politburo member Vo Van Thuong step down due to rule violations. Thuong, a key leader, has been found to have breached rules regarding the responsibility of officials and Party members.

His actions have led to negative public opinion and damaged the Party and State’s reputation. Thuong has voluntarily submitted an application to relinquish his positions. The same meeting also considered disciplinary action against Hoang Thi Thuy Lan for serious violations, leading to her expulsion from the Party.
