Vietnam is considered one of the most open countries in Asia for foreign direct investment. The Vietnamese government particularly focuses on encouraging foreign investments. There are tax benefits available for foreign companies. Together with being one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia, nearly half of the Swedish companies operating in Vietnam plan to increase their investments there (according to a business climate survey for Swedish companies in Vietnam conducted by Business Sweden and the Swedish embassy in Vietnam).
Vietnam is a prominent nation in IT. There is a wide selection of talented candidates, and the cost structure is much lower. You can quickly find the expertise you need, and your projects will not only cost you less but will also be more efficient and faster.· There is a strong willingness to work with new technology. Costs are lower, and it is less risky to experiment with new things.·
Adapting capacity to various needs is easy. You can quickly get help, whether for smaller tasks over a short period, the need for one or multiple teams over an extended period, or if you want to start a company here It's a perfect setup for startup companies with limited resources. It's cheaper to get started, and the financial risks are lower. Vietnamese talents are keen to work with foreign companies as they are attracted to a Western corporate culture. This leads to more effective teams and lower employee turnover.
Pär's journey is a fusion of technical proficiency and entrepreneurial spirit. His expertise spans from pioneering the initial stages of 3G development to establishing successful IT companies in Sweden. It was during his time as co-owner at DEK Technologies that Pär recognized Vietnam's immense potential in the tech scene. He spearheaded the expansion of DEK Technologies into Vietnam, a country rapidly asserting itself as a prominent tech hub in Southeast Asia, often dubbed the 'next Silicon Valley.'

While the work culture in Vietnam echoes the collaborative spirit of Sweden, nuances exist in the recruitment process and bureaucracy. Pär understands the need for a meticulous approach to recruitment and navigating administrative procedures. Additionally, he emphasizes the need for strategic talent development given the rapid growth in the industry

In 2008 we sent Pär to Ho Chi Minh City, to investigate and help establish a Software outsourcing centre in Vietnam.Vietnam was a great place, less explored, skilled talent and a supported business environment.Once we made the decision to establish a company in Ho Chi Minh City, DEK Vietnam had 26 developers employed and ready for training shortly after.Today DEK Vietnam has over 650 employees.
Bee Analytics started a product development of a BI tool for data storage and automatic connections to real-time data sources from public transportations vehicles, time tables, etc to provide an analysing tool to optimize and expand public transportation routes. Pär Johansson, in his role as CEO of Precio Fishbone Vietnam, provided a professional, skilled and committed team of developers for us to be able to develop our first version of the product. Our collaboration was open, transparent and lead to a successful story of building our product.
Ada Beat was looking to expand its business with an office in Vietnam that would enable Ada Beat to tap into the growing and sprawling software development community of Vietnam.Ada Beat is an IT consulting company focused on functional programming, serving customers globally with its software development services. Therefore Ada Beat reached out to Pär Johansson to get help with starting a business in Vietnam. After initial consultation with Pär, we concluded that the smoothest and easiest way to get started immediately was to utilize an existing company in Vietnam and hire software developers through that company. After a successful year of recruitment and operations, Pär also helped us to set up our own legal entity in Vietnam, finding an office and to smoothly transfer all employees to the new company.”
