Pär's dedication as an entrepreneur extends beyond mere business operations. He thrives on mentoring and supporting ambitious individuals, harnessing his vast experience to guide them towards their goals. His diverse leadership roles across various industries position him as a valuable resource for those aiming to make their mark in Vietnam. Pär Johansson has a long list of merits and experience as both an IT expert and an entrepreneur. As a trained systems developer, Pär has worked as a systems leader, consultant, and technical project manager, among other roles. Among his many projects as a project manager is driving the first version of 3G. Apart from his technical expertise and ability to lead large teams, Pär also possesses an entrepreneurial spirit.
Early in his career, he began building successful companies with multiple employees and offices across Sweden. Pär wears many hats as an entrepreneur. Working with various kinds of companies has given him broad experience. As a business leader, his role spans from global sales and managing corporate finances to being an HR chief, ensuring employees are well and fairly compensated. What drives him as an entrepreneur is helping other people who genuinely want to achieve something. "I enjoy working with young, driven individuals with ideas. I can contribute my experience and help them achieve their goals. With broad experience from both Sweden and Vietnam, I have unique expertise for those wishing to establish themselves in Vietnam," says Pär.
When Pär got involved in building the IT company DEK Technologies, he also noticed the many opportunities in Vietnam. Starting in Sweden, DEK, after its initial success, chose to establish a subsidiary in Vietnam. Vietnam has established itself as one of the foremost technological hubs in Southeast Asia and is often referred to as the next Silicon Valley. In 2008, Pär visited Vietnam to meet people and learn how to set up a company there. This marked the beginning of a new phase in Pär's career.
Apart from establishing DEK, he has also been involved in building companies like Precio Fishbone and AdaBeat in Vietnam. Today, Pär has 15 years of experience in the Vietnamese business landscape, making him the perfect partner for those looking to leverage the many advantages offered by Vietnam's high-quality yet cost-effective IT resources. Pär's experience, deep knowledge, and insights are invaluable in finding the right expertise, recruiting the right people, creating efficient teams, and building successful companies in Vietnam.
Vietnam has rapidly become one of the leading countries in IT, owing to several reasons, according to Pär. "There is a vast pool of talented candidates. Many excellent universities operate somewhat like vocational schools, providing students with extensive programming knowledge. Additionally, many Vietnamese individuals have received education in countries such as the USA, Australia, and Europe, and are returning. Vietnam is highly developed in the field of IT and offers all the services that Sweden has but with a clear cost advantage. There is also a greater eagerness to work with the latest technology here. It is inexpensive to test new technology, which drives innovation and development," Pär explains.
Regarding the differences and similarities in running businesses in Sweden versus Vietnam, Pär states, "The work culture is similar to that in Sweden. We work in teams, have good communication, and solve problems together. However, one of the differences is the need for a more meticulous recruitment process in Vietnam to find the right person for the job. There is also more practical bureaucracy here. In Sweden, many tasks can be handled digitally, but here, you need to visit authorities, ensuring that everything is done correctly. It's also crucial to be aware that there are rapid salary increments for those established in the industry. If cost is a factor, there needs to be a strategy to train the younger, new talents."
